Ronnie rode tall for the nation’s good.
The task was simple, his saying went:
“We must be rid of big government.”
Down with welfare and medicaid.
Just work hard if you want to be paid.
Enterprise will cure our derelictions.
Free corporations from restrictions.
Lower taxes -- that’s supply side.
Build our power, lift your and my pride.
Because we’re at war with evil forces
We must call forth our best resources.
Can’t be stingy on military spending --
Hundred billion yearly, funds unending.
No, we can’t stint on our armada;
Think Libya, Salvador, and Granada.
Wave the flag for these are our wars.
And for defense we’ll turn to Star Wars.
